Why We Built Sanctia
You know why flying scares so many people, even though airplanes are statistically far safer than cars?
I thought about this a lot after a particularly rough flight, the kind where you're gripping the armrest and quietly convinced the pilot is improvising. What I realized is that the fear isn't really about the odds. It's about the helplessness. The moment you know something has gone wrong, and there is nothing you can do about it.
In that moment, your mind doesn't race to statistics. It races to the people you love. Words you never said. Things you assumed there'd always be time for. A spouse or child who might not even know how to access your accounts, left navigating bureaucracy on top of grief.
That thought stayed with me long after the turbulence passed. I looked for something - an app, a service - that could hold those words and deliver them if I couldn't. Everything I found was either too clunky, too limited, or felt like an afterthought.
So I came up with Sanctia.
When I shared the idea with close friends, it struck the same nerve. That conversation became our founding team, and Sanctia was born.
We're a small, independent team building the tool we'd want for our own families. Something you can rely on when everything else feels out of control.
